Abstract
서론
치아의 형태학적 이상을 나타내는 dens evaginatus의 임상적 중요성은 tubercle의 파절로
인하여 치수괴사가 야기된다는데에 있다. 그 발생 빈도가 비교적 높음에도 불구하고 아직까
지 tubercle의 파절로 인한 치수괴사를 방지할 수 있는 뚜렷한 예방법은 없는 것 같다. dens
evaginatus의 병인, 발현빈도,구강내 분포 등의 여러 측면과 파절로 인한 치수괴사가 동반된
경우의 처치방법, 그리고 지금까지 보고된 몇가지 예방법에 대하여 임상 증례와 함께 고찰
하고자 한다.
치아의 이상은 매우 다양한 것으로서, 그 이상의 기준을 정하는 데는 어려움이 있으나 일
반적으로 정상에서의 변이를 일컫는다. 치아의 이상을 나타내는 원인에는 국소적 상태와 유
전적 경향, 전신적 장애의 현증 및 전신질환과 연관되어 나타나는 비정상 발생상의 장애가
있으며, 또한 계통발생학적의 한 과정으로 나타날 수 있다. 치아의 이상에는 치아의 수, 크
기, 형태, 조직 및 맹출 등의 이상이 있으며, 이들은 소아치과학에는 물론 여러임상 각 분야
에서 중요시되며 인류학에서도 높은 관심을 보이고 있다. 이들은 치과검진시 임상검사와 방
사선검사를 통하여 미리 감별진단되어야 하며 적절한 시기에 그에 합당한 처치로 이상치아
에의하여 발생가능한 합병증을 예방하여야 한다.

The most important condition associated with dens evaginatus is the loss of vitality
of the affected tooth. This can be caused by fracture of the tubercle during mastication
or attrition, which can eventually lead to pulpal disease.
Though it is not uncommon for dental patients of the Mongoloid group of races to
present with dens evaginatus, there is no absolute prophylactic treatment to prevent
several complications associated with this anomaly. The purpose of this article is to
review various aspects of dens evaginatus and introduce some methods of propitdartic
treatment such as mechanical grinding direct or indirect capping and use of sealant with
clinical cases.
